REFLECTION
EXPERIENCE: My experience with advanced typography is quite exciting for me because I got to learn a lot about something I was very passionate about. I was also assigned to design a whole new typeface and the build up to that was very insightful. I read a lot of historic literature materials and design materials and taught myself a lot. And I actually got ahold of a lot of design history books and was overwhelmed with so many new ideas and inspiration. That many ideas isn't healthy or productive but I have been trying to take them in slowly.
OBSERVATION: During the process of doing the assignments and getting feedback every week I came to understand that I have a lot of weak areas especially in executing ideas through design. Even though some of the raw ideas or inspirations have a good scope, it's very difficult to get the results I want. That is partly because of delays in work process. I have come to realise the importance of starting again and again and going at it rather than waiting for the last minute. It doesn't always work but I have been trying to make it work and I feel that it's improving
FINDINGS: After working through all the assignments and all the the research, I found that typography is more important to design than ANYTHING else.
