Individual Task 1: For our first week's task, I was told to research for motion graphic videos to choose 3 of my favourite motion graphic videos and write why I chose the 3 videos.
Video 1: How do Hitler rise to power? by TEDEd

I found this video to be explaining the flow of the story very clearly with really grungy but simple and aesthetic animation styles. The colour theme of a solid red and a yellowish grey tone for the rest makes the highlighted characters and themes very prominent and powerful.
Video 2: Water Slide by Mcbaise

I love the cartoonish and psychedelic style animations in this video song. The colour scheme used is also very matching to the mood of the song.
Video 3: The Gospel by Ordinary Folk

A beautifully visualisation to the story of Jesus according to the Gospel. The use of colour gradients and smooth animation style is very soothing to watch. The sound design also plays a huge part in the delivery of the story.
INDIVIDUAL TASK 2:Flip 2 Redesign Bad Infographic
For this task, we were to find a poorly designed infographic from the internet, find the problems within that design and then redesign the infographic by solving the problems. For this task, I searched for bad infographics and found many. I chose the below infographic about the annual sales of popular fast food chains. The concept is of a simple chart diagram that is supposed to show a single line of numbers from each fast food chain. But the simple idea was designed in the worst possible way. The logos of the brands were stretched on both dimensions to very wrongly represent the numbers. Even the labels are scattered all over the place with no consistency whatsoever throughout the infographic.

I searched on Canva for a template that could be used to show the above data in a much simpler way. I found the template below to be a very simple and easy to read diagram.

Using the above template, set the amounts to show the numbers but in a simpler way without putting labels around the design. I also downloaded the logos but put them in the small circles above each brand with the brands colour on the bar to show the sales amount. I also removed the "Billion $" label from each chain and wrote it in a bracket below the headline as all the numbers were in billions. Here is the FINAL redesign of the infographic:

KINETIC TYPOGRAPHY - INDIVIDUAL
For this practical exercise, Mr.Martin showed us how to do kinetic typography animations using Adobe AfterEffects. And we were told to animate the lyrics of a song. Here is my animation of the lyrics. I used stretching typography style and other transition effects to create this animation.

KINETIC TYPOGRAPHY - GROUP WORK
On this project, similar to the kinetic typography exercise, we had to animate the lyrics of a song as a group. But unlike the previous exercise, we had to do the whole song. We were given a sample song by Mr.Martin but since we had the option to choose a different song, we had a discussion among the group. Here is the song that our group chose to use as our project:

After we decided on the song, we split the lyrics into 6 parts for the 6 members of our group. I picked all the parts with the main chorus "I want something just like this" followed by the beats while the others did the rest of the lyrics. We had a few discussions regarding the colour theme, fonts, visual composition and animation styles. A mood board was created with all these elements included and we then worked on our parts individually with meet-ups in between to see the progress and comment on each others works to make the video look more consistent. Here is our mood board for the lyrics animation video:

FINAL SUBMISSION: After everyone completed their parts, we had discussions on final touches before compiling all the parts as the final music video. Here is the final outcome:

MOTION CHART
For this exercise we were told to animate a chart from one of these four types of charts:
Pie Chart
Donut Chart
Bar Chart
Line Chart
I had to do a bar chart on a list of given data. Here is the chart that I animated on AfterEffects.

ANIMATED INFOGRAPHIC (PASTA GRANNIES)
For this project, we were instructed to animate the poster that I designed from the pasta grannies video.
I used the elements from the poster illustrations to animate a slow-motion styled animation. Since we were told previously that we had to animate the poster, I did the illustrations so that the individual items and ingredients can be animated easily. Here is my final animation:
