FINAL PROJECT:
1. 1 Million Sandwiches by Becca Clason: Becca Clason is an artist who does very cool food typography. She also makes videos and ads using stop motion food typography. This is one of them. The idea is very simple but it looks very pleasing. The video gives a simple kitchen table look as all the elements used are very neatly selected and the composition is very pleasing.

2. Her Morning Elegance by Oren Lavie: This is probably the most creatively directed stop motion video I've seen using a very natural setup. It tells a whole story of a girl who is just sleeping in her bed. The video is shot on from the ceiling looking down, and uses the movement of the girl and surrounding objects to tell the story. The photography, use of elements, transitions are all very creatively used to make the video. The background song also plays a huge part from telling the story to giving the mood of the morning.

3. Distortion by Guldies: A total of 2500 still images were used to make this stop motion video that was made using clay. The use of sounds are very creatively. The composing and directing of the video from photography to the colours of the objects and background has a very vibrant and interesting look.

For the final assignment video, I wanted to experiment with an overhead camera angle with objects or wordings for my stop motion. I saw similar works from Becca Clason who I got very inspired from and wanted to do my own experimentation with that approach. Stop motion has a very huge scope and so many approaches but I found minimal works to be as impactful as highly detailed works. So I worked on my video using a white table and a jar of seeds. I used the seeds to write typographies on the table in a way that it will be animated when shot from the camera. The story board for these styles of overhead typography videos are pretty straightforward as the things to be shown in the scene is actually literally written for that scene. So I spent a long time working on getting the typographies right and shot this video.

I showed the video to Mr.Martin and he said he likes the approach but the result looks too simple. He suggested that I at least add more to the video to make it more impactful. After getting the feedback, I decided to reshoot the whole video. I felt that the use of a white background and black texts make the video too dull and colourless. So I remade the story board and used very vibrant coloured backgrounds for the new storyboard.Figure 1.4 - Storyboard1 JPG

RATIONALE: This video represents my unhealthy approach at dealing with deadlines and time managements. I used a flat-lay style overhead camera angle with very minimal animations and colourful backgrounds to give a simple but nice feel.
- B&W video is too simple. Needs more shots
FINAL REFLECTION: Video and Sound Production was a very interesting module where I learned so many things related to video / audio production. The assignments were not very difficult except for the final video. All the assignments were very helpful in putting the stuff learned during the lectures to practice.
