PROJECT 3: WEBSITE

For this project, we are required to develop a working website using the microsite design from the project 2. Although I've been doing the exercises in dreamweaver coding during class, being told to develop a website was very scary since I have always been avoiding code and web developing because it's something I feel is very difficult to do. But since I had to do it, I rewatched the lectures and re-did some of the previous exercises to warm up. I then watched beginner tutorial videos from youtube. I also watched a series of tutorial videos that was recommended by a friend.


I also decided that I will change some features of the design that I initially hadn't intended during project 2. Some of those features are:
  • My Logo on the website. (I used a logo I created for an Ad.Typo assignment)
  • Social media links to the footer
  • Re-cropped the main photo on Home page, Portrait page and Tropical page to be narrower to allocate space for the gallery from the first preview instead of expanding the main image to the first full screen oage
  • A narrow carousel on the home page
  • different hover looks

Many hours and backups later, I was able to put together everything and make them work. here is the files to the final website:

Week 14: Mr.Tarmizi reviewed my website and said he likes the black&white theme and simplicity of the design.

REFLECTIONS:

Website developing wasn't easy but it wasn't as tough as I thought it would be either. I am very happy with the work I managed to do with this assignment. I wasn't sure I can pull it off at first.
